SunDance 2022 Auditions (14-19 year olds)

In association with the Canadian Contemporary Dance Theatre, SunDance is the only RAD summer intensive in the world to combine RAD ballet and Limón modern.

Designed for dancers age 8 to 19, this three-week summer program in Toronto offers unparalleled training from internationally renowned faculty at one of Canada’s premier dance facilities. All participants train in RAD Ballet, Limón Modern, Repertoire, and Progressing Ballet Technique. Intermediate and Elementary Programs additionally include Character and Jazz, while Advanced participants select Modern Repertoire & Composition OR Ballet Repertoire & Pointe.

All applicants are required to audition, either in-person or by video for consideration to attend SunDance, July 4 – July 22, 2022.

Accepted students must enrol in the full 3 week program. Students will be placed in an appropriate program based on their audition. SunDance reserves the right to modify a student’s program based on further assessments made on the first two days of classes.

Program A – Advanced

Ballet, Modern & Progressing Ballet Technique

Modern Repertoire & Composition OR Classical Repertoire & Pointe
Prerequisites: Minimum 3 years modern and/or RAD Gr. 8 / Intermediate or equivalent.

Program B – Intermediate

Ballet, Modern & Progressing Ballet Techniques

Modern Repertoire, Spanish Character & Jazz
Prerequisites: Minimum 2 years modern and/or RAD Gr. 7 / Intermediate Foundation or equivalent.

Program C – Elementary

Ballet, Modern & Progressing Ballet Techniques

Modern Repertoire, Character & Jazz
Prerequisites: Minimum 1 year modern and/or RAD Gr. 2 or equivalent.

Introductory Program (C Intro): July 4 – 8, 2022

A one-week course combined with Program C, designed to introduce young dancers (ages 8 – 12) to intensive training.
